Christ's Vineyard

 

Christ's Vineyard is a community church in Hong Kong which strongly emphasis on discipleship training and also serve as a canteen and tutorial centre for local community. 

 

The icon of the logo is an empty basket for grape picking since bible said "The harvest is plenteous, but the labourers are few" (Luke 10:2) and Jesus urge "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me" (Luke 9:23). Christian is the steward of Jesus Vineyard and this is the duty to bear his grape-picking basket for harvesting. 

 

Chinese typeface design were inspired from 2 Bible verses, they are  “Enter ye in at the strait gate” (Matthaw 7:13) and “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” (Matthaw 9:24).  A camel to go through the eye of need should first kneel down, while a man who want to enter into the kingdom of God should humble and kneel before God, that’s why the typeface I’ve designed are relatively compressed and shorten in height than normal Chinese character, aimed to express the humbleness concept.
